You are uniquely you.
There's no one else here on this earth that is just like you in every way. Does that fill you with the same awe and wonder it does in myself? That God created me and formed me to be the way I am, to have my own distinctive personality, talents, hopes and dreams, failings and struggles - there is no one who looks, thinks, acts, and feels 100% the same way I do. :) Okay, so sometimes that can be a good thing, right. ;) Lol.
God gives us each a path to follow. Not all our paths will look alike. Oh yes, we may have similar twists and turns, perhaps the materials that have been used for our foot-path are the same as another's, but in the end, our pathway will look very different from all the others because we each have so many things that make us unique.
"But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." - Job 23:10
You are unique. God created you to be just who you are. You have your own strengths and weaknesses, joys and sorrows, victory's and failings. He has given you certain dreams and pursuits that only you can have and do. Your calling is yours alone.
What I love most about writing for this blog is the girls I get to write with and the girls I get to meet. :) Each of us is designed by the Master's careful and gentle hands. No one of us is the same, though it is joyous to find so many similarities. My strengths are not Miss Rachelle's strengths. My weaknesses are not my sister Jessica's area's of weakness. Yet God can use each of us in big ways! He takes each of our strengths, each of our weaknesses, and uses them for His glory. That's what makes us all alike! We're all sisters in the Lord! :D And what a special "tie that binds" it is.
"Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." ~ Proverbs 27:17
Together, side-by-side, God can use us to sharpen and refine each other. We weren't made to criticize our differences but to *embrace* them! I love how Sarah quietly leads never pushing herself forward for attention, Julia keeps us dreaming big dreams, Rachelle helps me to take those leaps of faith, Rose is my sweet encourager and comforter, and my dear sister Jessica is my voice of reason and keeps me on track. :) Each girl here on this blog, each and every one of my sister's in the Lord He's placed by my side, He's put there to sharpen me...and for me to sharpen them too.
We're all different, but we're the same in Christ. Let's not ever forget that! Let's not focus on our differences like they are a bad thing but encourage one another in love. Let's not compare ourselves saying, "Well, I'm not as pretty/outgoing/friendly/serving/smart/"perfect" (take your pick) as *She* is." Instead, let us say something more like, "Wow, I love how she looks at life and sees the joy it holds. Lord, help me to see through the darkness of this world and see the joys that You bring." :D
What a world we could have if we all enjoyed each other's strengths, were challenged by them, and did not criticize each other in our differences. What strong young women we would be if we accepted ourselves as God's own distinct and rare gem instead of tearing ourselves down all the time just because we're not the same as everyone else. God didn't create you, or I, to be the same, dear girl...
...He wants you to be unique!
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." ~ Psalm 139:13-14a
Love in Christ!
