To all you brave souls who have joined us in this challenge to memorize 1 Peter in one year, "Huzzah!" Bravo. If you were unsure about joining, didn't think you had time, and wish you could have joined us... there's still time to catch up! We're only on week three! You're smart cookies, you can handle it. :D
This week was the first week about Hope. Hope is like a steady, enduring flame. Hope is like a glad burst of splashy fireworks. Hope brings life - without hope, life is cold and ... lifeless. I'm so glad to have hope in my heart! I hope that you have hope too. :)
Verses Hid in Our Hearts This Week:
1 Peter 1:6-7:
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be,
ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire, might be found unto
praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Lesson Learned:
So many lessons hidden and imbedded in these few words! Here's some of them:
-Our faith is precious, more precious than gold. Hold on to it, and never let go.
-Our faith will be praised and applauded at long last, one day, when He comes back for us.
-Hope = life. Jesus Christ IS our hope. Because he died for us, and lives for us, we will live forever with him.
To Ponder:
What are some situations where you have hoped for something and had your hope fulfilled? Remembering what God has done for us helps to 'grow' our faith.
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for... the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1.

Next week, we'll begin memorizing verses 8-9! See you then! :)
Blessings,
Julia
