"Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:
my flesh also shall rest in hope."
~ Psalm 16:9 ~
my flesh also shall rest in hope."
~ Psalm 16:9 ~
I've had a rough couple of years spiritually. While many things around me seem to always be changing (something I do not like...) God has been teaching me that I have many area's of sin that I've held onto through the years and He seems to think it's about time that we work on those together. ;) That's not always easy and usually not fun. I don't like to see my area's of weakness...the area's of my failings...to see where pride, greed, discontentment, and even at times a coldness to His word and what He's trying to teach me.
Thankfully God is very loving and gracious to me. He is to you as well, my friend. :) Even when I wander a bit off the track, God is here to help me and won't let me stray farther than is good for me to come to an acknowledging of my sin and understanding once again how much I need Him in my life. :)
"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;" ~ 1 Peter 1:13
"By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." ~ Romans 5:2
We have a hope: hope that God is ever changing us and ever helping us to grow. Hope of salvation - which if we believe in Him we have already. We have His promise to one day be made new in soul and body...there will be no more sin to reign in us!! :D We will be with Him and we will be like Him - I cannot wait! I have a hope that He will mold and shape me each day to be more like Christ. We have a "lively hope" because of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us (1 Peter 1:3).

I have never heard this hymn before but while looking for some things I found this one with the most beautiful lyrics to it that describes just how I feel:
1. Have we any hope within us of a life beyond the grave,
In the sweet and vernal lands?
Do we know if this, our tabernacle, were to be dissolved,
We've a house not made with hands?
2. Blessed hope we have within us is an anchor to the soul,
It is both steadfast and sure;
It is founded on the promises of Father's written word,
And 'twill evermore endure.
3. Hope has brought us through the dangers and temptations of the past,
And we fear not those to come;
By her blessings we'll go forward, while our mortal life shall last,
Then we'll joyously go home.
4. Since we've walked the strait and narrow way our path has ever shone
Brighter, brighter, day by day;
Hope within our hearts assures us it is better farther on,
It is brighter all the way.
5. Life will end in joyful singing, we'll have fought a faithful fight,
Then we'll lay our armor down;
And our soul will break the cable here, and take its happy flight,
To possess a starry crown.
*Refrain:
We have a hope within our souls,
Brighter than the perfect day:
God has given us His Spirit,
And we want the world to hear it,
All the doubts are passed away.
"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast..." ~ Hebrews 6:19

"Trust in God isn’t a thin hope in some not very sure outcome.
Hope in God is rather a present investment in a future guarantee.
What God says will be done.
What God has promised will come to pass.
His word is reliable because in his grace he wants to bless us,
and in his power he has the ability to do anything he’s promised to do.” ~ Tripp
God always keeps His word. Trust Him to guide you along the way. Keep in His word daily always seeking His will in every area of life. Pray and confess any sin that enters into your heart/mind/life...and then leave it in God's hands for He has forgiven you. Do not pick up your sins over and over again judging yourself for what God has forgiven you of. :) Rest in hope.Hope in God is rather a present investment in a future guarantee.
What God says will be done.
What God has promised will come to pass.
His word is reliable because in his grace he wants to bless us,
and in his power he has the ability to do anything he’s promised to do.” ~ Tripp
"Rejoicing in hope.." (Romans 12:12),
God bless.
