Joy. It’s such a beautiful feeling to have welling up inside you. When you have the joy of the Lord, it’s ten times better. The joy He gives fills you all the way up to the top, and strengthens you in your walk with Him.
Nehemiah 8:10b For this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
I looked up some of the root words in this verse in the Strong’s concordance.
Joy:
From H2302; rejoicing: - gladness, joy.
Happiness, Gladness, rejoicing, JOY! It’s all good! :D
Strength:
From H5810; a fortified place; figuratively a defence: - force, fortress, rock, strength.
I love the sound of this. A safe, fortified place of defense. Our rock. Our strength. And this is when we have … Joy.
Let’s continue, shall we? :D
Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
When you delight yourself in the Lord, he shall GIVE thee the desires of your heart. Give? Yes! It’s free. But we have to be delighted in Him. The very nature of God should delight us and we should be delighted when we spend time in his presence. He will give us strength when we rest in him.
Psalms 21:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
In thy salvation how greatly shall we rejoice, oh God! We should be jumping for joy at just the thought of all that He has saved us from and how beautiful and lovely our lives hereafter will be with Him in heaven. :D
It seems like there have been a lot of things going on in my life recently to tire me out. I’ve felt weary and worn down… but there is some great news of which I needed to remind myself. Are you ready? Here it is: God never gets tired!
Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
:D I can always lean on him and let his great strength and all-compassing love buoy me up and support me in the times when I feel like it’s all too much for me to handle. Here is a wonderful verse to remember at times like this.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Hallelujah.
I hope this post has encouraged you today!
Hugs & Blessings,
Julia

Thank you for your encouraging post Julia! I wasn't able to read this last weekend, but God knew I'd need it more today. :) God's strength is amazing and when it's mingled with His joy...it's incredible! :)
Love you!
